Having a clean-shaved and smooth skin and body is what most of the girls have dreamed about. Just imagine, when going outside, with a fantastic outfit, flawless makeup, and hot body, you look almost perfect. However, the dense, black facial hair appearing in the middle of nowhere just breaks the ideal scene. Sounds mad, right?

My fellow women, we understand your struggle. Facial hair is a hard-to-discuss topic because of its sensitiveness, making the skills even more challenging to young girls.

So, in this post, let’s learn about how to get rid of facial hair so that later you can select the most suitable way to remove facial hair, taking back your perfect beauty!

How to Get Rid of Facial Hair?

Shaving

Shaving
Shaving

Shaving is the most popular method worldwide when it comes to removing hair. This method can work well on most skin parts such as the face, legs, hands, arms, armpits, and bikini area. Given that fact, shaving is suitable for getting rid of the hair on your face.

This method doesn’t require much preparation: a razor and a serum to soften your skin if available. That’s it! The procedure is also simple, and we believe that is the reason why people love the shaving method so much.

Here is how to shave facial hair: first, wash your face carefully with a facial cleanser to smoothen the skin. You can also take a shower or steam your face to let the pores enlarge, and the hair will be softer. Also, it’s more likely to cut your skin if the surface is rough and uneven. Hence, one more preparation step is to apply pre-shave oil to make the finish delicate and smooth as much as possible.

Now, let’s go into the main point. We recommend you buy a separate new, sharp, sterile razor to shave your face, not using the same razor as shaving other parts like armpits, legs, bikini area, etc.

Place the razor onto your facial skin, then slowly move it in a circular motion to remove the hair. It’s best to shave the hair towards the hair-growth direction, so please observe the yield of your facial hair. Otherwise, you can accidentally cut the root of the hair, and later the hair grows back and becomes denser and blacker.

After slightly getting rid of all the facial hair, sterilize the razor and wash your hair with water. You can also use moisturizer or aloe vera gel to heal the fragile skin after getting shaved.

Tweezing

Tweezing
Tweezing

Tweezing is another remedy on the list. Unlike shaving, tweezing is available for removing facial hair in small areas that demand more precision.

What is tweezing, anyway? Tweezing or plucking is the process of pulling out hairs directly from the roots. Hence, this technique is super effective in making your skin perfectly clean. The precision in tweezing is significantly high.
Given that fact, plucking hair is preferred in removing hairs in small areas. It is the most usual method on this list because the preparation needed is super basic. It would be best if you have a tweezer, that’s all.

To tweeze the facial hair, you should follow these stages: first, wash your hair under warm water. You can also steam your face or take a shower to soften the skin and enlarge the pores. Then, take out the sterile tweezer, and start plucking out the hairs.

While holding the skin taut, take out one hair at a time. Continue doing the same process for other areas on your face until all facial hairs are removed.

After plucking, please remember to sanitize the tweezer to ensure that it is still clean for later use. You can dip a cotton swab into alcohol, then rub the swab along the tweezer to wash it. Regarding your face, we recommend that you heal the skin after treatment by applying soothing gel.

Waxing

Waxing
Waxing

Waxing is becoming more and more popular worldwide because of its convenience. Even though this technique has just been invented recently, girls immensely prefer it.

Unlike tweezing and shaving, this method is an effective way to get rid of hair in any area. In general, there are two popular types of waxing products: wax strips and wax gel.

The wax strips are the product that you can find in any pharmacy. On each strip, there is a waxing solution, and your job is just stuck the strip onto the area you want to remove hair. Please remember to warm up the skin part beforehand.

Meanwhile, the wax gel is the liquid wax that needs more preparation steps than the strips. What you have to do is warm up the gel and the area you want to remove hair first. Next, use a stick to spread the gel onto your skin. Repeat applying the gel in all areas you need.

Consequently, let the wax sit out for about 5 to 7 minutes or until you can feel the wax turn hard. Firmly and quickly remove the strip in the hair growth direction. Wash the skin carefully to ensure no residue remains. Apply the baby oil or soothing skin to heal the face after the treatment.

What makes people worried most about waxing is that it is so painful. Just imagine, the wax is sticky like the adhesive tape, so when pulling out the wax, the feeling then is just like applying the tape on your hair and suddenly stripping it. Sounds extremely hurt and eye tearing, right?

Threading

Threading
Threading

Threading is the technique used on small areas that requires meticulousness and longer effect. It is used in shaping eyebrows and getting hairs on small, hard-to-reach areas like the upper lip, the side of the face, chin, or philtrum.

What is threading, you may ask? Threading is the term indicating the process of using a thread to pull and twist unwanted hairs out of the skin until the hair is fragile enough to fall out of the follicle.

As a result, this technique causes less damage to the skin and the hair root because the thread just triggers the hair to fall off automatically. We don’t break the root or scrub the skin; we just urge the hair, so no side effects like ingrown hair can happen. This threading method is safe, simple, but harmless.

Threading seems to be super harmless and effective, so you may think that you can apply this tip usually into your habit, right? However, unfortunately, threading is not as easy as it sounds. You just need a thread and twist your hair, but if you pull the thread randomly, the hair may fall off tomorrow.

There is a skillset and some “advanced” tips to pull the thread effectively, and only trained dermatologists can acknowledge that. So, typically, people have to go to hospitals to do the threading.

Using Depilatory Creams

If you are worried about being hurt or don’t have enough courage to pull out the hair, then we advise using depilatory creams. The effect of these drugs last longer than most remedies on the list, but the price consumed is much cheaper,

These depilatory creams contain a high amount of sodium, titanium dioxide, barium sulfide, which cut off the protein bonds in hair, making the hair easily fall off. Thus, the depilatory creams are super useful and harmless to the hair root.

However, there is one downside to the problem: the cream may make your skin irritated. Some people may be allergic to some chemical components in the cream, right? Hence, it’s better to do a patch test first by applying a small amount of cream to your skin and see the reaction after 24 hours.

The procedure of applying the cream is quite basic, just like applying moisturizers, gels, and serums. However, please remember to wash your skincare to ensure that no residue is retained on your face because the cream, if it remains on your skin for a long time, may cause an itchy feeling, which you don’t expect.

Wrapping it up

We have discussed some techniques on how to get rid of facial hair through this post. Among the five methods mentioned above, shaving may be the most common way to remove the hair, not only for the face but also for any skin area.

However, we prefer waxing over other methods. Personally, in our perspective, waxing is cheap, fast, effective and the hair that grows back isn’t as dense and black as other methods have.

Besides, waxing can work well on most skin areas, from large to small, hard-to-reach parts. It is not allergic because most wax doesn’t have chemical solutions, either.

What is your opinion? Which one do you prefer? I hope this article is helpful, and good luck on your beauty journey!
